Project I have been working on for the last few days.

A little gift for my siblings to remind them I am the oldest and that I love them. lol. They are going to hate it.

Took a selfie and created an AI depth map from it and then created a tiki statue from it.

Good for scaring small children and mice with it.

What is everyone else working on?

That's a totem. Glad the selfie worked, tried one and had to get new phone. Looks like another painting challenge, waiting to see the finished product.

@want2b 😆 😆 😆

I purchased a 2x10 this morning for it. Not using any fancy hardwoods for this project.

Somehow construction lumber is still shrinking, the 2x10 was 1.5" x 9.25". Looks really straight along with straight grain but I'll leave it for a couple of days so it'll acclimate just in case for any twisting. Moisture meter is saying 13% to good enough.

Carved in yellow pine at 15"x7"x1.5".

Looks good, details are there. Am guessing when you say 1.5 you are saying you used the long bit? Haven't tried to use any of them. My usual carves are with 3/4 stock so not needed but can see where going deeper in some areas using 2x's would make the carve appear more 3d.

@want2b Sorry for the ambiguity. The lumber is what is 1.5" deep. The dimensions are of the plaque. I carved it at .6" deep.

I have not used my deep bits yet. I bought some third party ones years ago and to be honest forgot I had them until you just mentioned them. lol
