Hey Calling in from Canada, West Coaster now formerly from the Canadian Rockies. Bought my Carvewright B machine in 2006, still working but no hours, meter never worked? Now part of Mens Shed where I will let other Golden grumpies use my machine if it holds out. Several Questions:

1. Have Designer 1.188 still in use on an old win 10 computer, my 2nd computer with win 11, reset and lost Designer setting on it, am I out of luck?

2. If I purchase Designer 5 does centerline text carve still work on it?

3. Any other tricks or tips on setting up designer 5 on a old machine.

4. Any thoughts on that free G-coder uses on other machines, ie the Good, Bad or Ugly.

1. My understanding is that once the old designer is lost you can't reload it as a working program since there no longer is a server at carvewright to register it. May be able to load as a demo, no value as you can't upload.

2. To my knowledge the add on programs work with Designer 5.

do they still offer a free designer?

Thanks Richard, nice to know Design 5 will work, plus if the G-coding software options for its use other other machines may help. There are other Men's Sheds here that like my designs but have other CNC machines, so G-coding options may work? Anyone with opinions on this? Enjoy Wise Owl

Not to my knowledge, the old 'free' program was based on one of the servers that were eliminated. No place to download from nor to activate any older versions. Designer 5 is the base program now for anyone resurrecting a machine or who loses their program for some reason
