My wife asked me to build a cabinet to hold the family bible. All new patterns inspired by Gothic church architecture.

Really happy with the final design and build.

Black walnut with cedar shelves. Dimensions are about 24"x30"x15".

Wow! Beautiful cabinet with just enough Gothic. Especially admire the doors and how you matched them. Most would have made them the same for ease of construction, matching at the 'joint' sets them apart. Really nice work, shows your planning.

@want2b Rick, thanks. This was a fun piece to design and build. A little bit of sticker shock at the price of walnut but otherwise went really well.

Guess it's just like everything else going up. Walnut's running from $8 to $11 a bf around here, depends on width and thickness. White Oak has really jumped lately, it and red oak were about $3 a year or so ago. White has jumped to $8 but red is still around $3. Even poplar has taken a jump. Have a stash of several woods I got when a mill/lumberyard went out but dreading having to refill any.

@want2b I haven't seen those kind of prices in years down here. It be nice to pay 111-12 dollars a bf.

As always Oscar, you have raised the bar. The things that you can create in your mind really shows your abilities to create new, wild, and amazing works of art.
