Gave my daughter my lithophane display storage box so had to make myself a new one. Black walnut for the box. Carving done in cherry and it is 6" x 4.25" x .25".

Lithophane riser is in padauk. I make my lithophanes with my 3d printer. Still needs a bit of sanding and maybe a a little bit more detail in other areas.

Neat idea. Haven't made any in a while but your setup definitely lets you view various sizes without making boxes. Having the 3d printer takes that load off the carver. Have you done any using color other than white?    The cherry carving really sets the box off.

Thanks. White or translucent filament is what I have used. There is special CMYK filament for lithophanes but you need a multicolor box to use it properly. I only have the single filament for my 3d printer so stuck with boring ol' single color lithophanes.

3 coats of spray on poly. Magic always happens.
