Is Pattern Editor automatically opening when you try to import the png?

I'm not importing a png that's how I originally made the pattern on my old computer. Now that it's a ptn file when I click on it then pattern editor opens automatically.

How many ptn's do you have that you are trying to put into your library?

Try it this way. Open Project Designer; go to FILE - OPEN. Change file type to PATTERNS and select the ptn you are trying to import. This should open in the import dialogue box. Click FINISH to save into Favorites.

Try this. Open project designer. Make new project. Then click on the pattern tool (shell icon) or press p key to open patterns browser window. In patterns "Browse" window right click on a category (preferably the category you created otherwise it won't work) and select import.
    Hope this help.
