Hello,
The Washboard Spoon Holder project is styled after an antique washboard and makes a handy wall mounted receptacle to conveniently hold four wooden spoons. The name text can be customized for your own family surname, as well as the year when your household was established!
The overall dimensions are: 9.5" wide x 15.25" tall x 2" deep.
Main items you will need:
1) The Project Files (included):
• Washboard_Spoon_Holder.mpc
2) Boards with the following dimensions:
Washboard mpc: 0.75" x 11" x 21"
Two Lengths of 1x2: 0.75" x 1.5" x 14.5"
One Length of 1x2: 0.75" x 1.5" x 9.5"
One Length of 1x2: 0.75" x 1.5" x 8"
Do not use boards that are smaller than specified above unless using an appropriate jig. Larger boards are fine in all cases.
3) 1x2 (nominal) lumber strips (lengths shown above), #6 x 1" and #6 x 0.5" wood screws, drill and bits, sandpaper, clamps, wood glue, stain and/or paint and clear finish
4) A Dremel-type rotary tool with assorted sanding wheels and bits to sand small details and speed up preparation for finishing.
Apply your choice of finish. Here’s what I used:
• Sculpt Nouveau Silver B metallic paint on the "washboard" (you can use any silver paint you want)
• Rust Oleum Ultimate Stain - American Walnut
• Several coats Krylon Clear Acrylic spray overall
