    Default First Litho: Whitetail Buck

Here is my first litho attempt.

It's not finished, and the parts are just setting in place and not glued yet...lol
But I was all fired up about it and had to show someone.

The base is a piece of quilted maple I had on the lumber rack. Twig uprights are dadoed so the litho slips into them.

I have a 13w florescent light behind it in the photo, but it's ugly and I need to find a better looking light source. I have an idea, but I'm only going to tell if it works.

Machine is all tuned up and running great, we are having fun now!

Edit: I also heated the litho in the oven at 350 and formed it around a coffee can until it cooled.

Litho looks great! I like the branch idea for the frame. Are they actual branches?

    They are real branches.
I do a lot of work with twigs, branches and logs. so I have barrels and piles of dry stuff around for other rustic work I do.

I thought they would go nice with the deer.

I'm going to try to light it with a small 15w candelabra base fixture and bulb. Because of the design the light fixture is exposed. I'm not sure it's going to be bright enough though.

When it's is completed I will upload some more photos.

I'm having fun with the new machine, now if I sell some products and get paid for my fun, well......then we got something going on...lol

Wow man, I like that stand almost as much as the litho. The two combined make just a fantastic piece. Great Job!! Look forward to seeing more of your work!

That is a great project - love the curved litho shape along with the natural branches and base. Very artful combination that works together perfectly. Great job!
