Fired up my CC (which is going on 4 years old) today after a long winters nap. Lubed the flex shaft, loaded the card with version 1.164 and my carving. installed 1/2" thick mahogany in the machine and fired it up. During the board measurement it displayed a width of 5.461" and I specified 5.5" in designer. It asked if I wanted to reduce the scale. A quick calc makes it less than 1% of my original size. I gave it the go-ahead. During the 6 hour carve I kept checking the temperature of the flex shaft and the Z truck. The max temperature settled to comfortable 91 degrees. This I attribute to the ROCK chuck. After the carve I micked the width of my board, just to check the accuracy of the machine dimension. It was spot on.
