Thought it would make a simple idea for carving out as a demo to show off the machine at the OKC Woodcraft store this Friday and Saturday.
The weather dials can be found at the Woodcraft stores.

very nice looking...what are the actual dimensions?

The ships wheel is VectorArt3d.
14.302 x 13.063 set to .250, The rectangle in the middle is 8.8 x 3.2 set to .125 and the holes were drilled out with a 2 3/8 inch hole cutter. On 3/4inch board.
I used MDF for this and saved time on the machine but cutting out the outside and inside parts with a scroll saw. I was hoping the mdf and the process for staining it would give it that weathered look on the wheel which it did in parts of it.

I cut out the ships wheel, but had second thoughts about finishing the project when I learned that the instrumentation would run over $50.00. I think I will shelve that project for the time being.
I was very happy with the results on the ships wheel.
