Default Making picture files of carvings

I have a client who wants to see a couple of different possible carvings before I get the go ahead to start their project. I've seen in the gallery
that it's been done, so my question is: how do you guys make a jpeg from a pattern. I've tried print to file but that doesn't give me a choice of what format I want to use. Someone please help! I need to get this to my client today.

    Thanks, Doug

Just take a screenshot of the project by using the "PRT SCN" button on your keyboard then paste into any image editing software you have, even PAINT will do it.

    Default Screen image to jpg

    Doug,

I have used King Kong Capture at home and at work to capture sections of my screen to a jpg. It is free and works well for me.

What is unique is that you can even capture images where "drop-down" boxes are open, all the others that I've seen cause control to go back to the application which closes the drop-down box.

I'll have to try the King Kong!

By the way, for conventional Windows active screen captures, if you hold down the Alt key just before activating a drop-down menu, it will capture the drop down menu without closing it when you press "Print Screen" (of course, while the Alt key is still depressed).

    Default Screen capture

    Thanks Michael,

I'll have to pass that on to others at work, it takes too many fingers for me to do - even if I'd remember how when I needed it.

    Default capturing

One of my favorite programs is Snag-it from techsmith. You can capture anything with it. Not free but well worth it. I've always told my kids and grandkids "something for nothing is worth exactly what you paid for it, except of course advice on the CarveWright forum.

    Default If using VISTA

If you are running VISTA, there is a "Snipping tool" that works very well. You can select area's of the screen to capture when you don't want the whole screen.
