Default How do you make a beveled carving

I'm trying to design a fireplace mantel that has a bevel to it. It will be around 3' long by 7" wide. I'd like to taper the width to around 3/8" at the sides and around 3/4" in the center. I've seen it done and I've done searches but so far I haven't benn able to come up with what I'm looking for.

    Thanks, Doug

The Surface select Menu will take care of it for you,
after you add your rectangles size.
You can also add patterns if you like.

Ok so I've got my board size then I add the rectangle caving area. I tried to add the pattern I want to carve but when I add the vertical dome the pattern goes away. If I add the vertical dome before the pattern it still goes away. I can see it if I invert the carve region, however, it doesn't follow the dome of the wood. (concaved at that point) I hope this makes sense.

    What am I doing wrong?

You may have to make your Pattern, Graphic or board Additive
to get the pattern to follow the bevel of the board.
