    Default Six panel gun cabinet

Some time ago I posted about carving some door panels for a cabinetmaker in Missouri. Today he provided me with some pictures of the finished gun cabinet. The entire project is done in hickory. I really like the way he was able to preserve the fine details of the carvings. His client is thrilled and so am I to be a part of such a nice project. There's more pictures here: http://www.forums.woodnet.net/ubbthr...7&fpart=1&vc=1

    Thanks for looking.

The hickory carved amazingly well. Zero chipout and the waste was more like timothy seed than sawdust. I was hesitant about carving it but will actually look forward to carving it again sometime.

That is a beautiful piece of work!

I have some hickory I picked up at a sawmill, just haven't really had anything to carve into it yet.

    Jim,

The panels you made on your CarveWright came out beautifully and certainly blend in perfectly with the cabinet maker's fine craftsmanship. You made him look "that much better", thanks to your carvings! Congrats on your contribution to such a fantastic piece of work!

After reading the other post with what he did with those 12 gauge pieces sounds like Robert Yarger also had his hand in the secret compartment.
