Wow, that's beautiful, Bubbabear. That finish is a killer. Would you share what it is?

Yes I break all their finish rules. That is Brush lacquer. I thinned with lacquer thinner and i sprayed. It is on cedar then i torched it then just a few drops of minwax cherry stain mixed in a pint of paint thinner and lightly sprayed on then the lacquer goes on

Ohhhh yeah and thanks a lot

Ok I took that picture while it was still wet. And now I am actually getting what I wanted a duller sheen. I knew it was way to glossy since all I used was sanding sealer. So slap me blonde some times

Wow, I couldn't get to the forum over the weekend and I come back to a 5 page thread.
Thank you for all your contributions.
If it doesn't fit force it. If it breaks then it needed replacing anyway.

Simply spendid, Bubbabear!! I use Deft all the time on the commercial furniture I build. I thin it for spraying and apply 9 or 10 coats for a good deep finish then rub it down with 0000 steel wool and mineral oil which takes down the sharp sheen to a mellow glow that looks a yard deep.

Thanks to you all for sharing all these inventive, artistic projects,

    Jerry
