Thread: Easy Organization Utility for Patterns Libraries

  1. Red face Status Report

Thanks to some wonderful people in this forum, I have been able to locate the source of the problem of errors on saving.

There is a limit (NOT imposed by CCWPO) on the size of the data for the pattern. That limit is 1 megabyte. Images that are scanned and imported can easily exceed this limit. In a problematic library that TerryT was kind enough to send me, I found two that were well over that limit. Deleting them from the library cured the problem.

Now that I know the issue, I will investigate ways to resolve it. Until then, if you import PNGs, make sure they are less than 1 meg in size. (If larger than that, you probably need to reduce the resolution, anyway. Designer can only handle about 200 DPI. Anything over that is wasting memory and disk space.)

If anyone is having issues using the sample that I provided, please private mail me with some details (problem, errors, XP vs VISTA).

Thanks for your patience AND all the great words of encouragement and appreciation I have been receiving.

  2. Red face Saving large patterns issue resolved

Anyone using/trying CCWPO should go to the CCWPO site and read the notes and download an updated release.

Thanks to all who reported the issue and helped me resolve it.

If anyone continues to experience issues, let me know (by private message).

That's the fix - thanks a bunch - this is a great addition to the software!

  4. Default Link to CCW Pattern Organizer Site Doesn't Work

Cannot not access the link; get a "Page Does Not Load" error.

How can I get a copy of this software?

I haven't seen twehr on the Forum for months. I think that the pattern organizer is kaput. I do have the utility I can e-mail you if you send me your address via pm, but as I recall, the Organizer had to be registered at Tim's website to go active.

Frankly, with the ability to drag and drop patterns inside Designer, I haven't been using the CCWPO anyway.

Tim's last post was July '08 - don't know what happened to him.

Maybe Mike Tyler or Jeff Birt know.....
