    Talking Finished Facade

    Hey Everyone,

As some of you know, my 14.75 hour marathon carve on the Yankee Facade went very well.

My customer wanted to paint and finish it himself. Well, I just received some pictures from him.

So here it is, in all it's "finished" glory. Folks I'll tell ya, he did a FANTASTIC job with the paint, flag poles and mounting. Tells me he even attached the flags with string so they'll wave when the ceiling fan is on. Gotta love it!!

    Did this old woodworker proud!

Only problem is...I haven't heard from him since. I think he's watching re-runs of the world series and won't leave the room...lol

    Chris,

Finished Yankee Facade looks great. I don't think you ever told us what the material was that you carved it from.

    It was carved from a Poplar 1 x 12. Could have used 1 x 10 but didn't have one.

    Hey Mike,

Thank you. One of my more enjoyable projects. Although the whole thing made me pretty nervous as I was still pretty new to the CW. I was pretty sure "It" could do it, just wasn't sure if "I" had all my T's crossed and I's dotted before I hit that old START button....LOL

    15 hours later I found that I did...whew!

    Yep, cut it from a 7 foot long Poplar 1 x 12.

    Default Yankee Facade

Just saw the Yankee facade. Great work Chris. Was that done in one piece of poplar, and did draw it in designer or scan something in with the probe? or scan in a photo?

It came out beautiful, Chris. You should be proud. I ain't interested in how much you got for your work, but it wasn't enough.

    Thanks Ken,

It was enough to pay the electric bill so I have one more month of carving I can do...lol

But he tells me many of his Friends are interested so, keeping the fingers crossed....
