Default is the probe suppose to touch the object

I am tring my first scan and I have notice that the probe is scoring the object I am scanning, is this suppose to happen.
I viewed the video and it did't seem to touch the object.

    Little help would be great.

    Default Scanning probe tip

    myshop1044,

The probe tip dose make contact with the object being scanned
and may damage it's surface. There are some posts and threads on the subject.

    This is one I found

    Softer Scanning probe possibility

    Default probe tip

My probe for the shopsabre has a slight bit of rubber or plastic on the tip.I have read on the forum here where guys were using tip of super glue and other things to make a softer point so as not to scratch delicate items.
