Default Pattern depot Searching - Tips

There is a new lesson titled "Pattern Depot Searching" added 1/26/2011 to my "Download" link below.

This lesson shows how we may concentrate our Pattern depot searches to eliminate many of the junk/unwanted/un-needed items.
    AskBud

Here are the steps, in a nut-shell, using the word "Rose" as my example.
    1) Start by accessing the pattern depot.
    2) Click on "Advanced Search".
    3) Place check marks on the following: Product title, Short description, Detailed description, and the circle for "Any word".
    4) Now, begin your word with Double Quotes, type the word, enter one space, and end with a Double Quote. Example: "rose "
    5) Next, begin your search.
    Note:
You may add a space to the beginning if you wish to make sure the text must begin
as you need. In this example a space prior to the "R" accomplishes this task, and eliminates rose which is in the center of another word.
You may also include other words (each in quotes) to find variations or other key words.
    Enjoy, AskBud

    Default Molding Knife Template

    http://forum.carvewright.com/showthr...708#post147708
The link, above, is the thread from which this lesson titled "Molding Knife Template" derived. The lesson is in my "Download" link below.

Lucas was trying to make a template which would be used by another machine to mill a piece of metal for yet another machine.

I haven't subscribed to the project of the month yet, but it is on my Christmas list. But in the mean time, I have been clicking on the "try" for past POMs and treating them as tutorials. I go through the PDFs and find a wealth of hints from how Michael describes how he goes about making and finishing his projects. Thanks, Michael. Well done.

In several he mentions he uses the radial bristle discs with his dremel. I went to the mcmaster site and was about to order some but was wondering how long they last so I could determine how many I should order. Does anyone know how much usage you get out of those discs?

    thanks,
    dave

Kinda depends on the size of the project. I just ordered some from Otto Frei. I use 3-4 bristles together at a time and they usually last me long enough for 3-4 projects. They work very good for me. I order the red ones.
