Happy Carving!

Well, I tried the wine rack... The graphs and the lettering went well and I was pleased. The circles craved out and I was still pleased. Then the machine started craving the outter rings and it stair stepped out by 1/16th of an inch and messed up the whole thing. What did I do wrong? I even made the board 7" longer than the project should be to stay under the rollers.
it may have something to do with the corner of the board riding over the brass tracker. my stepping(i believe)was caused by the sandpaper belts bunching up on the end of the keypad side, thus raising the board up off the tracker.
Happy Turkey Day
Mine was caused by the bottom my project board being to smooth,
and slipping on the the brass sensor. As per a suggestion on the forum,
I put a strip of painters masking tape on it, and it worked fine.
Now I always scuff or sand the bottom of the board first, and no more stepping.

I now put a strip of masking tape on the bottom of every board. A Board foot of Masking Tape is cheaper than a Board Foot of Wood....
Masking Tape is your friend.... Gives the Brass Roller a nice place to grip the board, especially the harder Oak and Maple woods.
Love the wine rack.
Happy T Day,
AL

Hi Al,
I should have remembered it was your suggestion about the masking tape, and it works great,
especially well on the smooth surfaces of the MDF boards that I don't really want to sand, when I use them for testing patterns.
oh by the way just a thought for today
In all the stories, picture and paintings, it always depicts a large plump Turkey,
some where near the center of the table.
So it’s pretty well establishes that one of the Pilgrims must have gone out hunting
and bagged the bird that has become a Tradition for our Thanksgiving Meal.
It made me think --- what if in his hunt for the feast table he had only bagged a Skunk.
