    Default Archangle Carvings

First of all, I would like to thank everyone that has helped me in the past by answering my questions, and coaching me in the inter works of the software and machine. I would also like to thank those of you that just posted observations and tricks of the trade.

From March until just recently, I have not been able to post to this forum as much as I would have liked to. For some reason, IT (The Website) would not take my request to post, or if IT did, would not allow me to add an attachment. These problems seem to be behind us now.

I don’t have a lot of request from family and friends for Signs, but they do seem to like the Plastic reproductions of family pictures, and Artwork, especially on cabnet door and the like. I find that most cabnet doors are too large for the machine, so I carve my patterns and attach them to the doors.

This is a couple that are earmarked for my mothers house.

    Ted,

Very, very nice carvings and I'd like to add that you did an excellent job of painting on them. Your mother will love them.

Default Painting is my wifes expertise

As always my wife paints everything. I only flip the machine on and let it make me look good.

If I can claim anything I do sand it, seal it, and clearcoat the finished product.

So, then, Ted, many kudos to your wife as well. You make a good team, but I'm sure you know that already.

    Default Team work

Great projects Ted, The detail and paint work your wife did is impressive.
Oh yes, and you did a fine job of flipping the machine switch on.

Just for your information, these patterns are available over at our website. I was really impressed with the detail of the patterns, I can see why they carved so nicely.

    Ted,

What wood did you use on your archangels?

    Default Wood

I used red oak on these, because here in the south, we don't have a lot of choice in hardwoods. I am still looking for a place to get quality hardwood locally.

The local sawmill has let me have anything I want from their scrapyard, but most of that is pine, and I am waiting until I can afford a plainer to pick up on some of that.

Ted, I picked up some nice cedar to rout an outdoor sign out at Ozark Hardwoods the other day. It is west of Pensacola on Hwy. 90... be a little way to drive but you could give them a call and check on some wood. I thought gave me a pretty good deal on the cedar board that I purchased. It's a little bit of a hole in the wall... but they had a lot of wood.

If you look at a map, it's very close to the Coastal Airport, on the same side of the road.

    Here the info...
