Thread: Raven and top rollers question

Default Raven and top rollers question

I have a question about the Raven, projects and top rollers.
When I create a project, it is my understanding that I need to have 3.5 inches of stock at the lead of my project and 3.5 inches on the trailer edge of my project, is that correct?
I was told that the project has to be under both top rollers at all times, is that also, correct?

I don't have a Raven but the other carvers require the 3.5 in at each end but that is not included in the project design. The extra 7 inches does allow the board to stay under the rollers for support. If you cut your board the exact length of your project the machine will want to change the project size. One way to save the extra board is by using a sled to mount the board on. There is a sled in the carvewright store that is adjustable

There is an option when measuring of stay under rollers y/n on the older machines, not sure if on the Raven. I have never used the N option so can't offer any help on that question.
Hope this is some help , there are a couple more on the forum who may add some info
