Thread: carve hole within a hole

Default carve hole within a hole

Hi i want to carve a smaller deeper hole inside a shallow larger size hole. The larger hole would be 1/16" deep and the smaller hole would be 1/2" deep. i know i could do it by carving the smaller hole and then draw a larger hole around the smaller and use the tool to cut the shallow area around the carved hole. Is there a way to carve both holes so i don't have to do a bit change. I can put both patterns in the carving list, but it only does the larger shallow carve and skips over the smaller deeper carve.

If I understand the question, there are a couple of ways to do it. You can use clip carving exclusive or you can also use merge style subtractive from the shallow carving.

Recommend learning how to use both techniques to really open up a ton of pattern making options.
