Thread: craving pocket region

  1. Default craving pocket region

When craving say a 6" square pocket region 1/2" deep, how do I leave a 2" square cube in the center of the crave? I should know the answer but I don't.

Probably different ways but I would create the 6" carve region 1/2 " deep, center both ways. Then create a second carve region in the center 2" with a depth of .001 and center both ways. Should give you the uncarved block in the center. Hope this is what you're looking for, if not let us know.

Within this 6" square, mark a 2" square in the center. This 2" square will be the region you do not carve. The center of the 6" square should align with the center of the 2" square.

After carving, smooth the carved area with sandpaper or a smoothing tool to ensure the pocket is even and the central cube edges are clean and defined.
