Chipping Letters

Trying to do stacked signs. Last name and first name come out okay, but letters for dates come out all chipped. Tried different things to fix problem, but nothing seems to help. Tried draft, bold letters, bit optimization, lower height, sizing letters. background is .300, dropped depth of letters from .188 to .125, height 100, bit optimization best. What am I doing wrong? Need help. Been using scrap wood to run test.

Can you post pictures of the issue. Also what lumber are you using? Is it a specific font?
