Thread: Carvings don't center

    Default Carvings don't center

For some time my machine places the carvings on my board 1/4" off center. The Carvewright techs tell me to recalibrate my offsets which does nothing to correct the problem as the boards are measured perfectly every time. I always measure the length of every board and compare it to the total length of the sled prior to carving. I've resorted to adding 1/2" to every board and then trim it to the correct size after carving. My carvings come out perfect in every way other than not centering.
    Thank you

Interesting.... Try turning most of the Shop Lights off that are pointed at the machine. Just looking at this from the Board Sensor point of view. As in a bright light on one end of the machine could confuse the board sensor edge.
Favorite Saying.... "It's ALL About the Brass Roller"..... And "Use MASKING TAPE" for board skipping in the X or breaking bits.

The offset calibration adjusts for carvings not being centered. It is not for calibrating the length or width measurement. It is how the machine finds the center point after doing the width and length measurement. Read through the procedure.
