Default Restoring old patterns after moving to new computer

Last year I got a new Windows 10 computer. So far it's pretty good. I got Designer moved to the new computer, and that's great. But, as many people have noted, the 'favorites.mpn' file didn't get moved, so I didn't have my purchased patterns availab le. I got all the licenses enabled for the new computer, but the patterns aren't there. I am able to download many of them and they are now usable, but many of them have either been renamed or removed, so I can't get them from Carvewright. I know someone will suggest copying the favorites.mpn from my old computer, which I can probably power up again. I guess I willtry that, and then re-download the new patterns I've purchased since then, since they should still be available. Any easier suggestions?

As an aside, I'd set aside my woodworking and carving for about five years, am now getting back to it, and I'm having more fun than ever. Looking forward to retirement, when I'll be able to spend even more time at it. I've also been doing some work with the Shaper Origin CNC router, which has a different set of capabilities. It can do big projects (I did a 24"x36" sign for my sister in one piece) for instance, but it can't do relief patterns of any kind. I look forward to seeing how many tools I can use in a single project down the road.

I don't know the answer. Software is my weak side.... I see in 16 hours 20 views and no reply's. Being a weekend with LHR Closed my suggestion is to join the Carvewright Facebook page. We have 2 of them. One is a joint venture with CarveWright and some users and the other one is some users coming up with Alternate places to get parts.

If you ask the question on the Facebook forum I bet you get a quick answer. I did not look to see if you already did.

    Welcome back to CARVING.....

I have 9 CW's but only use one at the moment. I know and respect the capabilities and in the Future my Brother and I in retirement will make good use of them. I bought a small Shapeoko S3 the smallest size to cut aluminum tags. So even I am gaining more CNC Capability but will KEEP the CW's as they are GOOD at a lot of things...

Get/download any patterns that were purchased from CarveWright to to your owners/registration account and you can download them from there. You can access it from the help tap in designer or from this link http://support.carvewright.com/customer-accounts/

To get any patterns from your old computer you will need to fire it back up and copy them to a thumb drive, send via blue tooth to the new computer or cloud storage.

If you already purchased the pattern, just log into your customer account and download it. If it has been canceled or removed by the pattern vendor, it is not available for sale, but can still be downloaded.
