Kinda thinking out loud here. All the wind spirit patterns that I have come across, are all male.

I hadn't realized Vikings played chess. They had some fun carvings. I especially liked the knights.

Tomorrow I am going to try and carve the old man in the tree pattern. I have a 7" x 12" cedar board glued up and drying.

This is a good pattern. This is a decoration for my wife's garden. Had to restart the project so the line across the face at eye level but since its for the garden I am okay with it and not worrying about it.

Board is cedar 7"x12"x1" with pattern carved at normal, .6 depth and 200 height. Carve time about 1:22:00. Wood bark pattern added to look like a Old Man in the Tree.

Stained the bark pattern with pecan stain to make it slightly different color than the cedar.
