Thread: X Axis Test

  1. Default X Axis Test

In starting a new project I got the error message "X Axis Stall E04-0304" I ran the "X Axis test" (6 times) and received results ranging A=100.35 to 106.55 and M=197.77 to 256.00. When running the test the belts run in a start-stop movement. I tried to load my project and when the machine went to measure the board, it also moved the board in a start-stop and not the smooth consistent transport as it has in the past. I am thinking I will need to replace the X gears. This will be my second replacement set in about a year.

Tapered Boards are the leading cause of broken gears. Tapered in Thickness.
Favorite Saying.... "It's ALL About the Brass Roller"..... And "Use MASKING TAPE" for board skipping in the X or breaking bits.

Check your head pressure, remove the cover for the X gears and inspect the gear teeth. run the X axis test with the gear cover off.
