    Default Importing

I am a newbie. Can anyone give me any tips on importing silhouettes so I can use it to make cutouts? No carving just cutouts. I tried using some tips from youtube but they didn't work out.

The first thing that you will need to do is remove the background area in the image so that you have just the silhouette. You can do it in a photo editing program, Pattern Editor or in the import window during the import process bringing it into Designer.

In the photo editor after the background is removed save the image as a PNG format.

From the Pattern Editor do the save to pattern library.

When doing the image import into Designer, in the import window use the lowering arrow or slide bar.

One thing I didn't do was saving as a PNG. Thanks I will try that.

Doing so will help retain not having the background.
