Default Edge Cut not square corners

When I do the Edge cut - with the 90 degree bit or any bit -the corners are overrun- not square corners. How do I fix that?

Can you post your project so we can see what you are talking about with the "edge cut"?

I don’t know how to post a pic - but I was trying to put a border around my carving - the corners look like a “+”.
If I can post a pic -I will. Thanks for your help.

Instead of drawing four lines use the rectangle tool.
