Smile Built The Red Christmas Truck

I found this really nice project on the CarveWright Build BLOG, The Red Christmas Truck Build. Be sure to go there and get the download for this project. To the one that posted this and made it possible, thank you so much for sharing it with us! I know it took a lot of work and time for the design. A picture is worth a thousand words so here is how my truck turned out... Merry Christmas! - Dave

Great job, I can see a lot of uses for those little trucks.

Fantastic Work!! Really nice rustic finish!! It looks like you put foot prints on the back bumper. Where did you get the mini lights for the tree? Carved mine but haven't assembled yet. I agree it is a great project. Thinking of making one for a friend that runs a collision shop. Might carve John's Body Shop on the door.

Thank You! I really liked using stain instead of paint so the wood grain shows and added a little antiquing wax for a rustic look along with footprints and dirt. The mini lights came from Michaels 70% off. I modified the wheels by gluing a circle cut on the bandsaw from Baltic birch plywood then used an axle so the wheels actually roll. Also used a Dremel tool to cut the fender for the spare tire. Don't forget to attach the steering wheel before closing in the cab or it will be like building a ship in a bottle. I had no ideal that a Red Christmas Truck was so popular and everyone has gone crazy over it. The Lord willing will be building more for next Christmas.
