    Default picking carving problem

When i go to the carving choice and select one, my pointer comes up in rotate mode so i can't pick and place the carving. Any ideas?

You might want to make sure that the "Reset tool after use" is checked under the Edit - Preferences

Also make sure you haven’t got the item “locked” to the Center of the board (both horizontally and vertically). If you do, then you cannot move the item - you can rotate it, but that’s all.

Bet that is the most correct answer... So easy to overlook this...
Favorite Saying.... "It's ALL About the Brass Roller"..... And "Use MASKING TAPE" for board skipping in the X or breaking bits.
