Pattern Help

I am making some letter templates and am having issues with the ! & ?. I am attaching the .mpc file so that you can see what I am needing. The font I am using is Albertus Extra Bold at this time. What I need to figure out is how to keep the DOT attached to the upper part of the symbol. It will not let me add a manual tab and I have tried to connect them with the lines but am unable to make it one path. I need them so that they stay attached to each other for using later on.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I just worked on the explanation mark. I made your two line drawings carve regions and placed a small rectangle carve region to join them. Selected all 3 and did an outline.

Thanks Floyd. I believe I understand what you did. I was able to do the same on my main templates. Not as neat but it will work.
