Default Image rendering for customer approval

When selling signs I often send the customers a proof of the design a carvewright screenshot. Is there any way to add color to the lettering? The customers sometimes lack imagination and I have to explain that yes the lettering will be painted I just cannot show that in the software. it would be nice if I could export the image to SketchUp or something. Any tips would be appreciated!

You can edit the screen shot in any photo editing software.

Do you have a recommendation for one that would easily do this without me dragging a little paint brush around?

I do not know of any that will paint it on it's own.

Seems like this would be something that could be added to the software. The machine only uses 'gray' but it would be an awesome thing to be able to 'color' areas of a carve for the reason you addressed and even for making gift items. We use the fonts on our system, possibly importing colors? Or just a pallette?

That's exactly what I have been wanting to do! Does anybody know if something like Gimp or Paint.net will allow a color fill within a bitmap image like a screen-shot? It would have to auto select the letter outline.
