    Default What am I missing

Trying what I thought was a simple project. Want to make some 'buttons' to replace missing ones on a pool table. Basically plugs that fit into holes on the rails covering the bolts/screws and provide the sight lines for the banks. Button looks like a plug you would use ti cover a recessed screw but with a recess in the center due to the head of the fastener not being flush in the bottom. I've tried various merge options but can not get the center recess needed for the fastener head.
Attached its the basic MPC without my options. Appreciate any help on understanding what I'm missing.

I am definitely not an expert at this and hopefully someone else can chime in if I am off base.

I grouped the inner circles and then used additive merge on the outer circle so the inner circle would be recessed. Hopefully that is what you were looking for.

Exactly what I am looking for. Obviously Group was the feature that I needed. Had never done anything that required it so another learning experience makes it a good day.
    Thx so much,

The Carvewright is a great machine but for cutting plugs it's probably not the best choice. I use a plug cutter. Available at Woodcraft and other places for about $10 to $15. You can make dozens in just a few minutes.

This reminds me of the old saying, the US spend thousands of dollars to invent a pen that could write it space, the Russian used a pencil, sometimes the old way is the best.

I have often wondered why it is that

I've got 2 sets of them, 1 I bought and a 2nd inherited. I agree for a regular plug but these need a recessed center and are not going to be a size readily available so I'm hoping I can get lucky. If not I'll probably try to find a way to make them with the plug cutters. Thx for the feedback.
