Thread: Best-Optimum

    Default Best-Optimum

I will be doing two carves, each are 6hrs at *best* setting or 11hrs at the *optimum* setting. One carve is the open book on 1 inch cherry with only some writing, while the other is *the old world or atlas*, 1" cherry. The board size is 14" x 24" for each. Will there be that much of a difference in the carve for the extra time it takes?. Thank you.

It depends on how much you like to sand.

Is there really that much of a difference? The book will be easy sanding but the Atlas will be much more difficult. Thanks Steve.

A mop is quicker. Use best and a mop. Now if you have very detailed carving, use a 1/32 bit, but still Best and a mop.

I am running 1.187, can I still use the 1/32 bit? Thanks Clint.
