    thanks for the comments, wood was very old cypress. I think the tree will work out in other project well too.
    Now on to some double sided military projects for another friend.

    Outstanding work!!!! Did you use any special technique for getting the letters painted white so neatly? Also what type of gold paint was used? Thank you!

    Since the wood is cypress, I had to put a sealer inside the V lettering so the paint want bleed into the wood.
    I used white krylon plaint and gold metal flake krylon spray paint, but painted it by hand, you don’t have to be so careful, you can paint outside the lines, when they were dry I sanded off the the top of the letters
    and covered the whole plaques with a high gloss sealer
