Cannot get cut path or carve region to display

Hey guys I need help. I am running the latest version of the designer software but cannot get the cut path icon along with the carve region to show.
All help appreciated.

You need to have the items selected so that the tools can be active.

is there anyway to eliminate the border that appears on images imported from pictures. They are on everything I try to carve.

need more info a picture or something so we can look at it

What graphics program are you using? If it can export or save as a PNG, you can delete the background (you would see a checkerboard pattern)

If you are not able to do that, you can lower the image during the import process.. click the down arrows to see if you can get the "frame" to disappear.

One more question:
I am trying to get the cut path to outline just the border of the pattern.
Like this one I have attached

On the Tools Menu, you should have "outline pattern" You must select the pattern first.
