    Default Distance Measurement

I have several carvings on one piece of wood. Is there a way to measure a distance directly without using gridlines?

Draw a line the length you want the spacing to be and place the carvings accordingly.

I should have been more specific. I wanted to measure an existing plan, but your suggestion worked just fine. Thanks!
