I finally got around to using a bit Nelson sharpened. This is right out of the machine with no cleanup. I think better than a new bit.

Thanks for the report, looks like I'll be using his service!
As a test, I have 32.5 hrs, on each bit on each machine. I just finished a 5 1/2 hr carve today and it looked very good, with no heat transfer to the truck.

For those who were wondering what service cestout is reporting on I think it's; Nelcyn Grinding Service at http://www.nelcyn.com/
Is that right, Clint?

This is the finished last supper project, 5 1/2 hrs, on one of the resharpened bits, working great.

Just had three of the 1/6 carving bits sharpened. Great service, quick turnaround. $8 per bit with a $25 minimum plus s&h. Also in passing found he has access to new bits at a good price. Just the bit without any adaptor, not sure if other bits might be available.
Contact him at the above website if you have any questions.
