Thread: Edit envelope - what's it for?

  1. Default Edit envelope - what's it for?

Hello everyone. So I am totally new to this forum. I've had my CW machine less than a month and have already made a lot of saw dust with it. In all my learning and studying (mostly YouTube) I have not run across what the "edit envelope" icon does. Is there a video out there that explains it or can someone explain it where even I can understand?
    Thanks

You use it to reshape, stretch, or tilt patterns. I used it to reshape the corner figures of this box to fit the angle of the sides. The figures were more or less 90 degrees, and I tilted them about 15 degrees.

Another good example would be how the text in your logo was done. It appears that the top and bottoms of the text box was stretched or curved.

This video gives a good example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zpahKb8088. It starts at about 7min 53 seconds into it.
