Default How to eliinate the "carve region"

I have a piece of jpg artwork (tree with hundreds of limbs) that I have imported into Pattern Editor and have cleaned up with stray pixels. I then sent it to my "favorites" in the patterns and placed it on the board. It comes with an automatic "carve region" that I don't want. I just want the pattern recessed into the surface of the wood not inset into this rectangle recess. How do I get rid of the recessed carve region?

In our Project Designer Tutorials, see the one called Importing Images.

During the import you can use the raise or lower arrows on the left side to raise the pattern. This doesn't always fix the problem as it raises the entire pattern and not just the background. You can also use the pattern editor to erase or flood fill the background. I typically use an external editor like Photoshop, Paint, or even Corel Draw to clean up the image before importing.

If the background is all white, one or two clicks down to lower it should take care of it.

I have to take the artwork thru Patten Editor to clean up a lot of stray pixels. When I then send it to the Libary , it bypasses the the "upper/lower" page and brings the unwanted "shadow box \" with it. When I tried to save it straight from PE over to a file it came as an mpw file and I couldn't get it to load into Designer. I studied the tutorial but it doesn't cover this issue.

Try saving it as an image from PE. It will save it as a png format. Then try importing the image into designer.
