It is a feature of the Designer 3 PRO version. CORRECTION: Edit Envelope was introduced in Designer 2.0

Connie, I only have designer 2.xxx but I also have the stl import add-on that came with pattern editor. Is the edit envelope a part of pattern editor?

    Thanks

It is not part of pattern editor, but neither is stl importer.

Oscar - I see you have STL Importer, but not Pattern Editor and, yes, you do have Designer 2. Edit Envelope was part of the Designer 2 upgrade.

I would do that with a line drawing to make your pattern. You can also use CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator ( Photo Shop) type programs.
