Help with an stl

Hello all:

I'm a little new to the stl importer and am unsure how to properly pull this stl in so that it will be carved correctly. When I pull it in now its giving me the shape, but not the depth and such. I have attached a copy of the stl and would appreciate any help you could give.

Since it was less that 0.75" thick I did not slice it. You will need to uncheck the pierced box and reset the depth to what you need.
