Thread: New problem

  1. #1

    Default New problem

I am setting up a long board for a sign. It is 59.75" long by 7.75' wide. I have added 7 inches and my design keeps all the words on the board. When I do the startup in my machine, everything seems to work great, but when it starts to carve the words it is off the board by about an inch on the side opposite the control panel. I have retried several times but it does the exact same thing.

I have contact paper on the entire board and masking tape on the outside edge in the middle to make sure it gets a true reading of the width. The slide plate is in place and I can't think of anything else to try. I can upload the design if it would be helpful.

    Any suggestions?

Did the bit come loose? That does not look like just poor tracking since both directions look over cut.

No, it did the rest of the sign fine, except for one letter in a different part of the sign. The part in the photo, is the first to carve. I just checked the bit and everything is tight. I purposely made it quite tight as I didn't want it to slip.

My take on this is that the bit became dull or has pitch stuck to it causing a "Y" Error... I see you joined in 2009 so how new is your two 685ZZ Bearings in your Y Gearbox?

Looks like a slip of the Y Axis.
