Default 3.103 GUI all messed up...

I have no idea if this is just me, or what, but the GUI on the latest update is in many, many ways just all messed up. I haven't noticed a single improvement to the software, only negatives.

    • The subtle gray coloring of the application background and toolbars have all changed to a bright stark white, which is not a huge issue, but it is less attractive.
    • The icons in the toolbars are all overlapping slightly, which makes clicking a drop-down to the right of an icon very difficult. I thought perhaps this is because I use large icons, but no - I switched to small and they still overlap.
    • The toolbars themselves seem to be difficult to move. As I click and drag them, they disappear and an outline appears in their place. However the outline is nowhere near where the toolbar will be, nowhere near the mouse cursor - it seems to randomly be somewhere near to halfway between where it was and where it will go. But even that is not accurate, as when dragging a toolbar slightly left or right, it will appear completely above or below where it should be.
    • The font used in the menus seems to have changed, and it is slightly less legible, though not unusable by any stretch.

This feels like I am mostly picking at nits here, being overly critical. But I play in designer every day, sometimes for a few minutes and sometimes for a few hours. And with this latest bout of changes, I find myself not using it nearly as much, and not enjoying creating new projects as much as I typically do. So while seemingly minor, these issues are causing a huge impact on my enjoyment of and the usability of the software.

I am on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. 4k Resolution. Let me know if you need any other info on my setup, as I am sure that has some impact on the GUI I am seeing.

I do not see the same things as you. All I have noticed is that the mouse over icon bitmaps have been changed. Colors maybe have been tweaked a little, but, that is all I have noticed so far.

Things you describe (colors/icons/fonts) weren't specifically changed in Designer, but an underlying library file was. Did you install the VC++ distribution which was included in the installer? That file changed.

I did not knowingly/intentionally install the VC++ distribution. When I opened Designer the other day, it routed me to the website to update. I downloaded and ran the installer. I do not recall seeing anything about VC++, but it is possible I overlooked it; I was doing about a dozen things at that time.

It is, I think, the second pop up window that asks if you want to install it.
