Dome surface question

The pattern rotates. The cutout will not. Remove the size constraints and, by typing in the size boxes, swap the sizes.

(The 3d tools can be used to make patterns. After the extrude is used, I just use make pattern.)

I got the pattern rotated, and redid the cutout just fine.

I assume the 3d tools you are referring tools are part of the 3d add on, which I do not have. Can I still use your project for carving?

Yes, that is why I made the extrude into a pattern. You cannot edit the pattern but you can carve it. (You would not have been able to carve the extrude.)

I want to cut a inverted dome in the surface of a piece. The depth of the dome needs to be 0.459" deep. The attached image file shows, in cross section, what I want to do. This will give it a radius of 1.75"

My attached designer project shows this piece in the center. As you can see from this file, it looks like the sides are .459" deep.

Is there a way to make the dome like it want it?

All you need to do is set the height to 999 it was set to 100
