Can someone tell me how deep the standard 1/16" carving bit compares to the 1/16" long carving bit, and how deep can you carve with each.

1/16" bit Max cutting depth with this bit is .8 inch
Long 1-16" bit .. The CarveWright 1/16" Long Carving Bit allows for 2" deep carvings. Max carving depth with this bit is 2.125 inch.
The 1/16" long carving bit comes with a CarveTight adapter only
This bit is too long to work in the Rock Chuck
Requires the Project Designer 2.003 or highe
This bit is not to be used in the Rotary jig.
(use the 1/8" long carving bit only for the rotary jig)

Thank You from Alaska have a GREAT Holliday .
A question occurred to me when reading this thread. Does the 1/16" LONG carving bit have a programmed pre-carve or extra slow feed rate so it doesn't try to carve 2" of material in one pass? I know I can set the Max Pass Depth in the Bit Choice window but if I have a deep carve and don't, what happens?

Oooooooh. Good point.
So. Is there a first pass or feed rate modification when using the long bits? I know about the breakage problem when using the 1/16" long bits with too deep a carve. That's kinda what I'm talking about.
