    Default Put texture on Font?

Is there a way to put texture on a font?
I'd like to make a sign with a certain font, but I want to texturize each letter a different way also...

Here is one way to do it. Note that textured rectangle has clip inclusive and merge additive applied. Then the text and rectangle are grouped so as to not affect the background rectangle.

With the texture tool you can add it to outlined raster text.

You can also put raster text in a carve region.
    Outline the text.
Using the outline, apply texturing or material.
Apply "merge: additive" to the outline.

Thanks for the help guys. If I spent more time using this software, I'd have a better handle on this stuff...

I think I'll go with the grouped rectangle/text, because I don't really want to outline the letters, I want them to stay as part of the background. And also because the outline method tends to make the shapes not stay together when you're moving them.
But we'll see... Not sure I'm totally happy with my design yet.

So is there a way to put custom textures on a font? Can we import textures for use in the "Select Texture" option?

Have you tried playing with the materials in Designer 3 ? There is some customization possible.

I put text on my board and outlined them. I found images online and made patterns out of them. Put pattern over letter, then did Merge Additive and Clip Carve Inclusive to pattern.

    Connie,

Thank you. I only add texture to font outlines infrequently and I usually spend half an hour trying to remember how to add the texture to the font since the last time. Thanks for the easy steps.
