    Default Another Paradise Box

I have made several of these jewelry boxes, each with different designs and patterns. This one is for my grand daughter as a wedding present. Michael Tyler designed the original box shape for the Vectric family as a chip-carved project and it's free on the Vectric website if you own Aspire or V-Carve pro. It turned out to be one of the most popular of his projects and there have been many variations. Here is one of mine.

Nice design variation. Your Grand Daughter will be very pleased, nothing like getting a special present from Grand Pa!

Every one has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.

    Henry,

It's called flocking. Flocking is the application of millions of tiny fibers onto an adhesive coated surface to create a velvet-like texture. There are many videos on how to apply it on You Tube. The most popular brand is "Donjer" Although it looks like it would be hard to do it is actually amazingly easy. After the masking tape was applied it only took about 15 minutes to do the inside of the box and the tray. The trick is to get an even coat of adhesive before applying the flock. A disposable foam brush works pretty good.

That is very nice Steve, great attention to detail. The carving, the finish, the hardware.
