    Default rotary jig turning handles?

could someone be able to give a approximate time it would take to turn a handle for lathe tools?

    say 12" long. 1-1 1/4" diameter?something like thee

also if you find a used rotary jig for sale, would it come with software?
    if so is it transferable?

I think it would take about an hour for a 12" long handle. (The rotary jig software is not transferable. It is the same as all of the add on softwre.)

I turned this screwdriver handle awhile back. It's 6" long and about 1 1/4" in diameter and the carving time was about 1.5 hours on optimal. The hardest part was getting the diameter for the ferrule correct. The Carvewright isn't very accurate with round diameters. Ultimately, I just left it a little large and finished it up on my lathe.

I don't know how long it would have taken on the rotary jig without the detail but about 15 minutes on the lathe.

    EDIT: BTW, Thank you.

I originally made this screwdriver back in 2014 and had plans to post it in the pattern depot as a rotary pattern. However, I was never successful in getting a consistent diameter for the ferrule so I didn't post it. Here is the link for the conversation we had here on the forum. It was never resolved.

If it is symmetrical, I think it would be a waste of time to do it on the CarveWrignt if you have a lathe. If your handle has a "ball & claw" on it, then use the CarveWright.
